Kelly Paterson, born in Montreal in 1960, is completely devoted to her art. Every day she carries out her commitment to paint and exhibits an exemplary discipline in the search for her work. Her inspiration comes to her from her multiple interests; through colours, structure, movement and light, her love of nature transpires. Nature stands out, the one that is part of our every day life. It is that very same nature that fascinates us and amazes us with so much beauty in its evolution and in its expression.
We can also notice the light. Sometimes discreet, sometimes imposed, it stands out or insinuates itself. It allows us to appreciate all the nuances of colour. Her capacity to express herself with colour is an endless story of creation and it is renewed according to the inspiration of the moment. Her work evolves continuously. She shapes her paintings with pleasure, but especially by taking into account the challenges of expressing emotion through structure, texture, colour and light.
